Skål International Club of Bali donates 1 Ton of rice
You are all aware of the devastating effect the global lockdown is having on our beautiful island.
Many people have lost their jobs as foreign tourist arrivals have dried-up and 80% of Balinese rely on Tourism either directly or indirectly. Basically, no tourists mean no jobs and no one can predict when things will improve. We feel that we have a social responsibility to assist where we can.
The Board has agreed to re-allocate all costs associated with Skål International Congresses for 2020 that have been cancelled, to donate back to the community. We will work with the Nasi Project to donate 1 ton of rice each month for the next three months.
Last Friday 1st May, members of the Board assisted with the distribution of rice to the most vulnerable individuals and families in the community.
For more information about Nasi Project visit their Facebook page, They have full transparency and all monies raised and all money spent can be seen in their public documents.
On behalf of the Skål International Bali Committee, we wish you and your families well, stay healthy and stay strong and see you soon again...
